The ADSA Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Larry R. Miller, USDA-CSREES, has accepted the position of Director, DISCOVER Conferences. After delivering twelve DISCOVER Conferences, and launching the thirteenth, Bill Baumgardt will begin to transition his responsibilities to Larry over the coming months. Our heartfelt thanks to Bill and Elaine for their tireless devotion and the vitally important contributions they have made to the Foundation and the Association.
Congratulations to Larry, as he steps into the leadership role in July 2007 for this unique forum for the open exchange of ideas on important issues in animal agriculture. Larry has been actively associated with the DISCOVER Conferences since they were established. His professional career spans leadership roles in several USDA agencies, interface with universities in every state, and an extensive network of contacts in animal agriculture across the food and agricultural system. Larry is a native of Illinois and received degrees from Western Illinois, Kansas State and Purdue. He is nationally recognized by Deans, Directors, Department Heads, faculty and animal stakeholders throughout the U.S. for his contributions concerning program leadership, multi-state coordination, and his facilitation roles related to animal agriculture.
