and Western Section Meeting

Meeting Announcement

July 27 - 31, 1998
Denver, Colorado
Hosted by Colorado State University

Every four years something spectacular happens in the animal agriculture industry. Two of the leading publishers in animal agriculture come together for a collaboration of research information. The American Dairy Science Association and the American Society of Animal Science invite you to be a part of the 1998 ADSA - ASAS Joint Meeting in Denver, Colorado July 27-31.

More than 3,000 researchers, educators, extension specialists, manufacturers, consultants, and others with a stake in the future of animal agriculture will meet to share their latest research. The dynamic program will include more than 1,500 scientific symposia, short papers, invited speakers, and posters along with nearly 100 commercial exhibits. You won't want to miss it!

Denver, Colorado
The joint meeting will be held at the Colorado Convention Center in the heart of downtown Denver. You'll be just steps from some of the best restaurants and nightlife along 16th Street Mall, minutes from Coors Field (home to Colorado Rockies baseball), and a short drive to some of the country's most exquisite mountain ranges in the Colorado Rocky Mountains.

American Dairy Science Association
Since its founding in 1906, ADSA has been dedicated to promoting the welfare of the dairy industry through discovery and dissemination of knowledge, recognition of outstanding personal achievement, publication of original research findings, and support of youth programs. Its meetings and publications provide a unique opportunity for involvement of teachers, researchers, and practitioners of both dairy foods and dairy cattle production. Areas of interest include dairy cattle improvement, management and health; extension and education; formulation, stability and improvement of food products; and processing and industry concerns. International in scope and membership, ADSA has more than 5,600 professional, student, and institutional members.

The American Society of Animal Science
ASAS was organized in 1908 to obtain more effective research results, to promote professional advancement in animal science, and to cooperate with other organizations with similar objectives. Today, ASAS, a professional society with more than 6,500 active members and institutions representing 110 countries, provides effective leadership through research, extension, teaching, service, and publication activities. Interests of members are diverse, covering a variety of species, including cattle, swine, horses, sheep, and other agricultural species. Nutrition, biotechnology, animal care, human health and diet, breeding, international agriculture, meat science, genetics, and pharmacology are only a few of the interest areas studied.
