The quiz bowl will create excitement for the students, will be educational, bring attention to the students, and it will provide recognition to the students and the participating ADSA-SAD University Dairy Clubs. Questions will focus on the ADSA, ADSA Foundation, dairy production, dairy processing, and dairy foods.
Each school will be able to submit one team. Teams will be seeded out by a written exam. The contest will constitute a single elimination until the final round, which will be a double elimination. Logistics and time of the quiz bowl will be arranged through the planning of the ADSA Annual Meeting.
Presentation of Quiz bowl Award
The winning team, department head, and advisor will be presented with the Sellers-ADSA Foundation Traveling Trophy at the annual ADSA Foundation Auction. Along with the trophy, a list of the donors; who contributed $50.00 or more toward the purchase of the Sellers carved cow; will be given to the winning team. The trophy will be encased for protection and the winning team and year will be placed on the casing material. The trophy will be displayed in the trophy case, department head’s office. The trophy will be returned the next year for the next winning team.

Old and New Officer Meeting
· The first order brought up was to possibly think about splitting the student meeting
on to another day, this may allow for more events and more time between activities.
·
If anyone has feedback on the meeting, on what we can
do different or add in for future meetings, just bring it through the year so
we can discuss these improvements.
·
Quiz Bowl- final plans will be made at the planning
meeting in Indianapolis. Should we pick students to chair the quiz bowl?
Jeannie and Angie will head that up. Questions that came up were:
How will we make this a national competition?
Should the quiz bowl contribute to the Outstanding Chapter?
Judges?
Who will be responsible for buzzers, should we bring our own?
Fundraisers for the future?
·
The topic was brought up about how we will place the
Web Sites. How many placings? Will it be like the proposed Original
Research(< 5 entries, only 2 places or if higher, 3 places).
·
We will soon begin collecting information for the
Pipeline.
·
It was also brought up that maybe we should
initiate a Handbook for the Rules and Regulations of our various competitions.
·
Should the group think about splitting the Original
Research depending whether it is foods or production depending on the type of
research done. Also maybe think about intervening the student papers in with
the entire program to bring industry into our sessions.
·
General discussion on USDA tour? What do you think we
can do at Indianapolis- dairies, museums, Eli Lily. Do we have to do tours? Can
it be fun? Educational? Dance?
·
For the career symposium, does anybody have suggestions
for next year?
·
Mr. Kent Williamson brought up the idea for official
ADSA housing in Indianapolis(dormitory housing). What are the advantages or
what are the disadvantages? What about hotels and possible cost?
With no other business to bring
up the executive meeting was adjourned for the 2000 ADSA- SAD meeting in
Baltimore, Maryland.
