Dear Midwest ADSA-SAD Members:

The University of Illinois Illini Dairy Club is excited about hosting the 20th Annual Midwest American Dairy Science Association-Student Affiliate Division meeting on February 23-25, 2001 in Champaign, Illinois. We have already begun planning an exciting weekend that should be fun and educational. Here is a preview of what we have planned:

We will be having the typical Midwest ADSA-SAD meeting activities such as dairy bowl and skits. We would like for each school to indicate how many freshman/sophomore and junior/senior dairy bowl teams they will be bringing. Each school should create a skit that relates to the dairy industry. Please indicate if you will be competing in the yearbook and display booth contests. Rules for quiz bowl, skits, and contests will be sent with the confirmation materials in January 2001.

In order for the Illini Dairy Club to plan meal arrangements, we will need a list of those students and advisors planning to attend and a $35.00 per person registration fee (including advisors) by December 1, 2000. The registration fee will be non-refundable.

Each student needs to submit a one-page resume. These resumes will be sorted by anticipated year of graduation and bound in a booklet. Each representative from the companies that have reserved booths at our career fair will receive a booklet prior to coming to the meeting. Many of the companies are looking for interns and all are looking for students to fill full time positions. Some of the companies we have so far are:

We have enclosed the design for the 2001 T-shirt. All t-shirts will be short sleeve and are available in medium, large, extra-large, and extra-extra-large. The cost of the shirts is included in the registration fee. Please indicate the size that each participant desires when making your registrations.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Clarion Hotel and Convention Center. Each club needs to handle its reservations directly through the hotel if you have not already done so. The cost is $62 per room. Please contact the hotel at (800) 257-6667 and mention that you are part of the Illini Dairy Club/Midwest ADSA-SAD Convention. You can also check out their website at:
