Looking to the Future: Student Affiliate Division

If you are a student, you may join ADSA through the Student Affiliate program. Consisting of chapters from across the country, the Student Affiliate chapters are local clubs organized at colleges and universities offering courses pertaining to the production of dairy cattle and dairy foods.

Both undergraduate and graduate members of approved Student Affiliate chapters may participate in the affairs and activities of the Student Affiliate Division.

The benefits of Student Affiliate membership include the following:

  • To meet graduate program advisors.
  • To develop a network of professional contacts in the dairy industry.
  • To meet other dairy science students from across the nation.

Student Affiliate Division Activities

The Student Affiliate Division conducts its national activities in conjunction with the ADSA annual meeting. More than 30 papers are regularly presented in undergraduate and graduate student competition at each meeting. Two business meetings are held to conduct Student Affiliate Division business and to elect officers. Members also hold several informal sessions to discuss local club activities and membership. In addition, time is allotted so that the Student Affiliate members may attend ADSA sessions of their choice.

News of interest to student members is published in a section of the Journal and in the student newsletter, The Pipeline.
