An official journal of the American Dairy Science Association, Journal of Dairy Science (JDS) is the leading general dairy research journal in the world. JDS readers represent education, industry, and government agencies in more than 70 countries with interests in biochemistry, breeding, economics, engineering, environment, food science, genetics, microbiology and food safety, nutrition, pathology, physiology, processing, public health, quality assurance, and sanitation.

There is no better way to remain up to date on important advances in the dairy industry than having electronic access to JDS. The journal publishes original research, technical notes, current news items, and articles of general interest to leaders in the dairy industry. Every issue of JDS, starting with the first issue published in 1917 and continuing up to the present, is available as part of the ADSA membership package. ADSA members also receive discounted author publication costs.

JDS Communications®

Now indexed in the PubMed scientific database

An official journal of the American Dairy Science Association, JDS Communications (JDSC) publishes narrowly focused, hypothesis-driven original research studies designed to answer a specific question on the production or processing of milk or milk products intended for human consumption. In addition to short research articles, JDSC publishes mini-reviews—unsolicited, concise review papers. Research published in this journal is broadly divided into the production of milk from food animals (nutrition, physiology, health, genetics, and management) and processing of milk for human consumption (dairy foods). JDSC aims for rapid turnaround and a short time to publication.

JDSC is an open access journal. Authors who publish in JDSC make their work immediately, permanently, and freely accessible worldwide, and ADSA members receive significant publishing discounts.

ADSA makes it easy for its members to stay in touch with professional colleagues by publishing an online directory of members. Beyond helping you stay in touch, this unique database is highly searchable for those times when you need to reach out to members with specific expertise.

ADSA Website

The ADSA website has the latest association and industry information including national and branch meeting plans; board, committee, and staff listings; JDS and JDSC author instructions; job postings; dairy publications listings; and more. These areas of the home page are accessible to all visitors.

Your Voice for Science

In addition to advocacy efforts of its own, ADSA supports a science policy program hosted by FASS Inc. to create a voice for animal science. The vision of this program is to serve as the “go to” source and communicator of policies that are founded in sound science and to promote FASS as a leading authority on issues across the animal sciences at the local, state, regional, national, and global levels.
