Kathryn Boor named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association®

Champaign, IL (June 3, 2020)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Kathryn Boor has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. Boor will be recognized during the virtual ADSA Annual Meeting.

The purpose of the ADSA Fellow distinction is to recognize dairy foods division and production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.

Kathryn Boor’s unparalleled commitment to the dairy industry is evident by her world-renowned impact. Her scholarship has led to improved tools for detecting and monitoring microbes that cause illness and spoilage and forged new insights into the underlying cellular mechanisms that contribute to dairy pathogen survival and virulence. Her translation of research into practice ensures direct dairy industry impact. As a mentor and administrator at Cornell University and member of scientific boards, she has been instrumental in shaping dairy and agricultural science education and serves as a determined advocate for science-based dairy practices and policies.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents Kathryn Boor with the 2020 Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association distinction.
