Alexander N. Hristov receives the American Feed Industry Association Award

Champaign, IL (May 19, 2021)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Alexander N. Hristov as the 2021 recipient of the American Feed Industry Association Award. Hristov will be recognized during the virtual ADSA Annual Meeting.

The American Feed Industry Association Award was created to stimulate research in dairy cattle nutrition. The award recognizes an individual who has made a worthy contribution to research of dairy cattle nutrition within the 10 years immediately prior to the year of the award. The winner must have published original research work; conducted research at a public institution, hospital, or similar institution; and been a member of ADSA for at least five successive years.

Alexander N. Hristov is a distinguished professor of dairy nutrition in the Department of Animal Science at The Pennsylvania State University. He has a BS from the Higher Institute of Zooengineering and Veterinary Medicine (Stara Zagora, Bulgaria) and a PhD in animal nutrition from the Bulgaria Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Hristov worked as a research scientist in his native Bulgaria and has worked at the USDA Agricultural Research Service Dairy Forage Research Center (Madison, WI) and the Ag Canada Research Center (Lethbridge, AB, Canada). He was on the faculty of the Department of Animal and Veterinary Science at the University of Idaho and has been on the faculty at Penn State since 2008.
