Champaign, IL (May 19, 2021)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Luiz Ferraretto as the 2021 recipient of the Lallemand Forward Award for Scientific Excellence in Dairy Nutrition. Ferraretto will be recognized during the virtual ADSA Annual Meeting.
The Lallemand Forward Award for Scientific Excellence in Dairy Nutrition was created to stimulate and recognize outstanding achievement in research, teaching, extension, or industry in applied dairy nutrition by scientists during the first 10 postgraduation years of their professional career.
Luiz Ferraretto is an assistant professor and ruminant nutrition extension specialist at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His research and extension efforts focus on understanding and improving carbohydrate utilization by dairy cows; improving silage production, quality, and utilization by dairy cows; optimizing the inclusion of alternative forages and by-products in dairy cattle diets; and developing and evaluating on-farm and laboratory methods for forage and feed analysis. Ferraretto has published 55 peer-reviewed manuscripts, 98 abstracts, and 91 extension articles and has presented 92 invited talks across the United States and other countries.
It is with great pleasure that ADSA and Lallemand Animal Nutrition present Luiz Ferraretto with the 2021 Lallemand Forward Award for Scientific Excellence in Dairy Nutrition.
