Champaign, IL (May 19, 2021)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Marcia Endres as the 2021 recipient of the DeLaval Dairy Extension Award. Endres will be recognized during the virtual ADSA Annual Meeting.

The DeLaval Dairy Extension Award was created to recognize outstanding achievements in dairy extension. The winner must have made a valuable and noteworthy contribution to the dairy industry through dairy extension in the broad areas of production, manufacturing, marketing, and youth work; be active in dairy extension when nominated and have at least 10 years of dairy extension work with an educational or public institution; and have been a member of ADSA for at least five successive years.

Marcia Endres is a dairy science professor and extension specialist at the University of Minnesota. Her extension and applied research program centers on dairy cattle management, welfare, and behavior and precision dairy technologies, such as robotic milking. Endres strives to focus on current issues in the dairy sector and proactively adapts her program as hot topics change over time. Many producers have updated their facilities based on results from her research. Her work has had a clear impact on cattle welfare worldwide. Among many roles, Endres leads the dairy extension team and chairs the US Precision Dairy Conference committee.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and DeLaval Inc. present Marcia Endres with the 2021 DeLaval Dairy Extension Award.
