Champaign, IL (May 19, 2021)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Michel Wattiaux has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. Wattiaux will be recognized during the virtual ADSA Annual Meeting.
The purpose of the ADSA Fellow Award is to recognize Dairy Foods division and Production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.
Michel Wattiaux has contributed tirelessly to the planning, organization, and implementation of undergraduate and graduate education symposia and workshops at regional and national meetings of ADSA almost annually since 2005. These events have offered ADSA members the opportunity to reflect on their teaching practices and provided them with tools to impact not only the knowledge but also the skills, attitudes, and worldviews of students. Wattiaux has documented his teaching and learning research in peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters. His reputation as a scholar of dairy science education is further evidenced by the numerous invited presentations he has made and the workshops he has facilitated nationally and internationally.
It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents Michel Wattiaux with the 2021 Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association distinction.
