JOSÉ EDUARDO P. SANTOS NAMED FELLOW OF THE AMERICAN DAIRY SCIENCE ASSOCIATION®

Champaign, IL (May 9, 2022)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce that José Eduardo P. Santos has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. The award will be presented on Sunday, June 20, 2022, during the opening session at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri.

The purpose of the ADSA Fellow Award is to recognize Dairy Foods division and Production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.

José Eduardo P. Santos received his DVM degree from São Paulo State University in Brazil. He moved to the United States to complete his MS and PhD degrees at the University of Arizona and a clinical residency in dairy production medicine at the University of California, Davis. After eight years on the faculty of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis, Santos moved to the Department of Animal Sciences at the University of Florida, where his research and extension programs seek to develop technologies that enhance efficiency of dairy production, in particular improvements in peripartum health and reproduction.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents José Eduardo P. Santos with the 2022 Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association distinction.
