Champaign, IL (May 9, 2022)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Rafael Jiménez-Flores as the 2022 recipient of the ADSA Award of Honor. The award will be presented on Sunday, June 20, 2022, during the opening session at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Kansas City, Missouri.

The ADSA Award of Honor was created to recognize unusually outstanding and consistent contributions to the welfare of the association or distinguished service to the association. The award is primarily for services to ADSA, with career achievements or contributions to other segments of the dairy industry receiving secondary consideration. The winner must have been a member of ADSA for 25 years or more, be living when nominated, and have served ADSA with unusual distinction.

Rafael Jiménez-Flores has been a member of ADSA since 1983. He has presented his own group’s research continuously since 1985, experiencing ADSA as a student, a postdoctoral fellow, an assistant and associate professor, and now an endowed professor in dairy science. Throughout his 39-year journey with ADSA, Jiménez-Flores has contributed to the excellence in dairy science supported by this organization. His service covers a wide range of activities. Notably, he was president of ADSA during the pandemic, and he has served on numerous ADSA committees. Recently and most notably, he was a board member for two terms and participated in hiring our executive director (twice).

It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents Rafael Jiménez-Flores with the 2022 ADSA Award of Honor.
