Barry Bradford receives the American Feed Industry Association Award

Champaign, IL (May 12, 2025)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Barry Bradford as the 2025 recipient of the American Feed Industry Association Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

The American Feed Industry Association Award was created to stimulate research in dairy cattle nutrition. The award recognizes an individual who has made a worthy contribution to research of dairy cattle nutrition within the 10 years immediately prior to the year of the award. The winner must have published original research work; conducted research at a public institution, hospital, or similar institution; and been a member of ADSA for at least five successive years.

Barry Bradford serves as the Clinton E. Meadows Endowed Chair in Dairy Management in the Department of Animal Science at Michigan State University. His research focuses on nutrition and immunity interactions and optimizing the dairy cow’s role as an upcycler in the food system. Bradford has also contributed through his mentorship of 30 graduate students and postdoctoral scholars, as well as frequent consultations with dairy nutritionists and producers.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and the American Feed Industry Association Inc. present Barry Bradford with the 2025 American Feed Industry Association Award.
