Trevor DeVries receives the DeLaval Dairy Extension Award

Champaign, IL (May 12, 2025)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Trevor DeVries as the 2025 recipient of the DeLaval Dairy Extension Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

The DeLaval Dairy Extension Award was created to recognize outstanding achievements in dairy extension. The winner must have made a valuable and noteworthy contribution to the dairy industry through dairy extension in the broad areas of production, manufacturing, marketing, and youth work; be active in dairy extension when nominated and have at least 10 years of dairy extension work with an educational or public institution; and have been a member of ADSA for at least five successive years.

Trevor DeVries is a professor and Canada Research Chair in the Department of Animal Biosciences at the University of Guelph. In that position, DeVries leads a highly productive research program focused on understanding the applied links among dairy cow nutrition, behavior, health, and performance. He is committed to extending that work to the field, contributing numerous invited research presentations, webinars, and extension articles. DeVries also extends that knowledge through his teaching at the university, which includes instructing courses in the area of dairy management, coaching the university Dairy Challenge team, and mentoring students.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and DeLaval Inc. present Trevor DeVries with the 2025 DeLaval Dairy Extension Award.
