Champaign, IL (May 12, 2025)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce that Alexander N. Hristov has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during the awards program at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.
The purpose of the ADSA Fellow Award is to recognize Dairy Foods division and Production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.
Alexander N. Hristov is a distinguished professor of dairy nutrition in the Department of Animal Science at The Pennsylvania State University. He has a BS from the Higher Institute of Zoo Engineering and Veterinary Medicine (Stara Zagora, Bulgaria) and a PhD in animal nutrition from the Bulgarian Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Hristov has worked as a research scientist in his native Bulgaria, at the USDA Agricultural Research Service Dairy Forage Research Center (Madison, WI), and at the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Lethbridge Research and Development Centre (Lethbridge, AB, Canada). He was on the faculty of the Department of Animal and Veterinary Science, University of Idaho, and has been on the faculty at The Pennsylvania State University since 2008.
