Osvaldo Bogado Pascottini receives the ADSA® Foundation Early Career Award: Production Division

Champaign, IL (May 12, 2025)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA) is pleased to announce Osvaldo Bogado Pascottini as the 2025 recipient of the ADSA Foundation Early Career Award: Production Division. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

The ADSA Foundation Early Career Award was created to recognize two young scholars (one from the Dairy Foods Division and one from the Production Division) for their potential in research and/or educational leadership in identifying critical issues affecting the future of the dairy industry. Nominees must be within the first 3-5 years of their position following graduate school/postdoctoral fellowship completion (i.e., assistant professor, industry professional. Domestic and international nominations are welcome. The winner must deliver a symposium style address at the ADSA annual meeting to be scheduled as appropriate by the general program chair. The text of this address should focus on critical issues affecting the future of the dairy industry.

Osvaldo Bogado Pascottini is a veterinarian specializing in dairy cattle reproduction, with a strong focus on uterine health. His research has advanced the understanding of clinical and subclinical endometritis by investigating its metabolic, immune, and microbiome-related origins. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and supervises graduate students, many of whom have completed their PhDs. Pascottini is an Ad Astra Fellow at University College Dublin (Ireland) and a diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists. His current work focuses on developing a synthetic uterine microbiome to replace antibiotics in the treatment of uterine disease in dairy cows.
