Xin Zhao named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association®

Champaign, IL (May 12, 2025)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce that Xin Zhao has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, during the awards program at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky.

The purpose of the ADSA Fellow Award is to recognize Dairy Foods division and Production division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.

Xin Zhao is a Distinguished James McGill Professor at McGill University in Canada. He is recognized internationally in the fields of lactation physiology, mastitis research, antimicrobial resistance in bacterial pathogens, and gut health. His research aims to improve livestock management to prevent and control animal diseases while maintaining a healthy and sustainable food supply. He has mentored over 100 graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and visiting professors, and has authored or coauthored more than 280 refereed journal articles. Zhao is a former ADSA board member and continues to contribute as an editor for the Journal of Dairy Science.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA presents Xin Zhao with the 2025 Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association distinction.
