Adegbola Adesogan named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association

Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association (ADSA®) is pleased to announce that Adegbola Adesogan has been named Fellow of the American Dairy Science Association. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The purpose of the ADSA Fellow distinction is to recognize Dairy Foods Division and Production Division members of ADSA who have rendered distinguished service to the dairy industry over 20 years or more. The recipients must have made exceptional contributions to the dairy industry, to a dairy-related discipline, or to ADSA; in addition, the recipients must be and have been a member of ADSA for a minimum of 20 years.

Adegbola T. Adesogan is associate vice president, E. T. and V. C. York Professor of International Agriculture, director of the Global Food Systems Institute, and professor of ruminant nutrition at the University of Florida. He led the $49 million Feed the Future Livestock Systems Innovation Lab, advancing the use of dairy and animal‑source foods to improve health, nutrition, and livelihoods in 10 African and Asian countries. His research focuses on forage conservation, rumen function, byproduct utilization, and reducing the environmental impacts of livestock production. He has published more than 200 peer‑reviewed papers and received various awards from ADSA, the American Society of Animal Science, the American Forage and Grassland Council, and more.
