Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA) is pleased to announce Younas Dadmohammadi as the 2026 recipient of the ADSA Foundation Scholar Award: Dairy Foods. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The ADSA Foundation Scholar Award in Dairy Foods was created to recognize a young scholar from the Dairy Foods Division and their potential in research and educational leadership and to identify critical issues affecting the future of the dairy industry. Special requirements include 10 years or less since receiving a final academic degree, current active membership in ADSA, exemplary research or educational programs (instruction, extension, or industry), and potential for future leadership. The winner must deliver a symposium-type address at the ADSA Annual Meeting that should focus on critical issues affecting the future of the dairy industry. A written manuscript of the lecture must be submitted to the Journal of Dairy Science®, which will then be reviewed and published in an appropriate section of the journal.
Younas Dadmohammadi is the 2026 ADSA Foundation Scholar Award: Dairy Foods recipient. He is a tenure-track assistant professor of dairy innovation at Oregon State University’s Food Innovation Center, with a background in chemical engineering and food chemistry. With more than eight years at Cornell University, he led dairy projects funded by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Gates Foundation, and Dairy Management Inc. aimed at scalable nutrition solutions. Advocating a “milk beyond commodity” vision, he emphasizes multidisciplinary research and development. His downtown Portland–based lab focuses on dairy ingredients—proteins, fats, minerals, and lactose—to expand their applications and support farmers’ prosperity.
It is with great pleasure that ADSA and the ADSA Foundation present Younas Dadmohammadi with the 2026 ADSA Foundation Scholar Award in Dairy Production.
