Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Chanhee Lee as the 2026 recipient of the Nutrition Professionals Inc. Applied Dairy Nutrition Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Nutrition Professionals Inc. Applied Dairy Nutrition Award was created to stimulate and recognize outstanding achievement in research, teaching, extension, or industry in applied dairy nutrition. The winner must have made significant contributions to the dairy industry in the area of applied dairy nutrition in one or more areas, such as applied nutrition research related to improved production efficiency, reproductive function, or herd health; integration of innovative nutritional management practices into profitable management systems; or education (including technology transfer and extension) and application of nutritional information to students, producers, and the public. The winner must have made the contribution within 10 years prior to the year of the award and have been a member of ADSA for at least five consecutive years. They must also be a resident of the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
Chanhee Lee, PhD, associate professor of animal sciences at The Ohio State University, Wooster, is recognized for his contributions to dairy cattle nutrition and environmental sustainability. His research focuses on precision amino acid nutrition, improving nitrogen-use efficiency, mitigating enteric methane, and evaluating novel feed ingredients. Lee has authored or coauthored 78 peer-reviewed publications and has mentored four PhD students, eight MS students, and many undergraduate students. A dedicated ADSA member since 2008, he serves on the Journal of Dairy Science editorial board and delivers high-impact research and invited presentations.
