Sabine Mann receives the Zoetis Physiology Award

Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Sabine Mann as the 2026 recipient of the Zoetis Physiology Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Zoetis Physiology Award was created to recognize outstanding research in dairy cattle physiology. The winner must have research work in any area of animal physiology relating to the dairy animal published in refereed journals in the five years immediately preceding the year of recognition and have been a member of ADSA for at least the last five successive years.

Sabine Mann is  an associate professor at Cornell University whose research advances understanding of dairy cattle physiology during the transition period of cows and newborn calves. She received her veterinary degree from the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, her doctorate from Ludwig-Maximilian University Munich, and her PhD from Cornell University. Her work integrates physiology, nutrition, and management to improve metabolic health and disease resilience in dairy cattle. Dr. Mann’s research on controlled energy feeding before calving and metabolizable protein supplementation after calving has clarified key physiological mechanisms that support productivity and health while maintaining milk production in modern dairy systems.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and Zoetis present Sabine Mann with the 2026 Zoetis Physiology Award.
