Sabine Mann receives the ADSA Foundation Scholar Award: Dairy Production

Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA) is pleased to announce Sabine Mann as the 2026 recipient of the ADSA Foundation Scholar Award: Dairy Production. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The ADSA Foundation Scholar Award in Dairy Production was created to recognize a young scholar from the Production Division and their potential in research and educational leadership and to identify critical issues affecting the future of the dairy industry. Special requirements include 10 years or less since receiving a final academic degree, current active membership in ADSA, exemplary research or educational programs (instruction, extension, or industry), and potential for future leadership. The winner must deliver a symposium-type address at the ADSA Annual Meeting that should focus on critical issues affecting the future of the dairy industry. A written manuscript of the lecture must be submitted to the Journal of Dairy Science®, which will then be reviewed and published in an appropriate section of the journal.

Sabine Mann is recognized as an ADSA Foundation Scholar for her transformative research on the transition period of dairy cows and newborn calves. She is an associate professor in the Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences at Cornell University. By synthesizing insights across physiology, nutrition, and behavior, she has developed practical strategies to enhance disease resilience, well-being, and productivity. Her work on nutritional interventions—including prepartum energy management and postpartum protein feeding—has optimized metabolic health without sacrificing milk production.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and the ADSA Foundation present Sabine Mann with the 2026 ADSA Foundation Scholar Award in Dairy Production.
