Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Kiyeon Park as the 2026 recipient of the ADSA Midwest Scholar Award.
The ADSA Midwest Scholar Award recognizes and features the research accomplishments of recent PhD graduates or current PhD students from the ADSA Midwest Branch in the advanced stages of their program (i.e., within 12 months of degree completion) at the ADSA Annual Meeting. The intent of the Young Scholars Program is to recognize the accomplishments of students in many disciplines through an invited presentation format; it is not intended as a competition.
Kiyeon Park is a PhD candidate in Dr. Chanhee Lee’s laboratory at The Ohio State University, expecting to graduate in May 2026. His dissertation research focuses on metabolizable protein and amino acid nutrition, aiming to improve nitrogen-use efficiency and environmental sustainability in dairy nutrition. His broader research includes evaluating byproducts for enteric methane mitigation, reducing ammonia emissions from manure through nutritional strategies, and developing improved methodologies in dairy nutrition research. During his PhD program, he has published nine peer-reviewed publications and 31 abstracts. His work has received competitive recognition, including first place at the 2024 EASY BIO Animal Science Forum and third place at the 2023 Tri-State Dairy Nutrition Conference.
It is with great pleasure that ADSA and the ADSA Midwest Branch present Kiyeon Park with the 2026 ADSA Midwest Scholar Award.
