Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Fernanda Rosa as the 2026 recipient of the Lallemand Award for Scientific Excellence in Dairy Nutrition. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The Lallemand Award for Scientific Excellence in Dairy Nutrition was created to stimulate and recognize outstanding achievement in research, teaching, extension, or industry in applied dairy nutrition by scientists during the first 10 postgraduation years of their professional career.
Fernanda Rosa is an assistant professor of immunology at the School of Veterinary Medicine at Texas Tech University. Born and raised in Brazil, Rosa completed her bachelor’s degree in animal science at the Federal University of Pelotas. She earned her master’s degree in animal science from Oregon State University and her doctorate in biological sciences, with a specialization in dairy science, from South Dakota State University, focusing on nutritional interventions to enhance calf health. Currently, Rosa’s research focuses on enhancing preweaning calf health through nutrition, with particular emphasis on the role of bovine colostrum and its bioactive components in mitigating gastrointestinal diseases.
