Lolita Vandevoorde receives the Phibro Animal Health Undergraduate Student JDS Communications Publication Award

Champaign, IL (May 8, 2026)—The American Dairy Science Association® (ADSA®) is pleased to announce Lolita (Tita) Vandevoorde as the 2026 recipient of the Phibro Animal Health Undergraduate Student JDS Communications Publication Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during the awards ceremony at the ADSA Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Purina Animal Nutrition Teaching Award in Dairy Production was created to recognize an undergraduate student who has published a paper in JDS Communications. The winner must have an accepted article in JDS Communications that is based on research conducted by the student before graduation. The winner also must be listed as the first or corresponding author on the article, and must be an ADSA member.

Tita Vandevoorde earned her BS in animal biosciences from The Ohio State University (OSU), where she completed a research distinction project characterizing T-cell populations in the rumen of lactating dairy cows. She presented these findings at professional conferences, including the ADSA 2025 Annual Meeting, and authored her first publication in JDS Communications. Vandevoorde is currently pursuing an MS at OSU with Kirby Krogstad, PhD, continuing her research on rumen immunity under nutritional and inflammatory stress. Vandevoorde plans to pursue advanced training at the intersection of veterinary medicine and biomedical research, with the long-term goal of advancing animal health through scientific research and clinical application.

It is with great pleasure that ADSA and Phibro Animal Health present Lolita Vandevoorde with the 2026 Phibro Animal Health Undergraduate Student JDS Communications Publication Award.
